例如,「生離死別」可譯為 separation from a loved one due to death;「著迷」可譯為 fascinated by, captivated by;「凝住了心神」可譯為 captivated her spirit, enthralled her mind;「鄉愁」可譯為 homesickness, nostalgia。

After experiencing the painful separation from a beloved one due to death, San Mao resumed her writing and was invited to embark on a journey to the land of the sun—Latin America. She was not drawn to the dry historical materials and cultures found in books, but rather was captivated by the people and the vibrant street life. Having traveled and drifted for half her life, she thought she had seen all the colors and forms of the world. Yet, the intense hues of Mexico enthralled her spirit. On the roads of Honduras, "Blue Bird" buses shuttled back and forth. Even though "happiness" seemed to be everywhere, San Mao was drawn to places beyond the reach of the blue bird. The true bird of happiness, she found, was in Costa Rica, where the farmers' deep love for their land almost made her stay. And the silver lake in Ecuador evoked memories of her past life as an indigenous person, a profound homesickness that she could not shake.

Even while in a foreign land, San Mao was deeply cared for by friends and relatives from all directions. Such warmth and hospitality made her feel as if she had found a second home, and each farewell became a cherished burden. The scenery along this journey was a riot of colors. Though there were occasional twists and turns, every encounter was a beautiful harvest. If San Mao, who was always on the move, were to stop here, it would be because she was truly, deeply
